At just thirteen years old, Armand van Rensburg discovered a lump of clay and shaped his very first sculpture: a running cheetah.
 

What began as a childhood curiosity quickly became a lifelong calling.

For more than a decade, Armand has dedicated himself to the art of sculpting, refining his craft and developing a distinctive artistic language. Since becoming a full-time sculptor in 2019, he has created works for private collectors, luxury residences, hospitality spaces, and public installations throughout South Africa. His sculptures are also held in private collections across the United States, Germany, France, Russia, and the United Kingdom, reflecting a growing international appreciation for his work.
 

Inspired by the timeless beauty of Renaissance sculpture and the emotional depth of Impressionism and Expressionism, Armand creates contemporary works that celebrate both the human form and the stories it carries. Through expressive textures, carefully developed patinas, and a balance between realism and abstraction, each sculpture explores themes of identity, faith, restoration, and our shared humanity.
 

Working primarily in bronze and glass-reinforced polymer (GRP) resin, every piece is meticulously handcrafted in his Hermanus studio. 
 

For Armand, sculpture is more than an object. it is an experience.
 

Every commission begins with understanding the client, their story, and the space the work will inhabit. The result is more than a sculpture; it is a deeply personal work of art, thoughtfully created to become part of a home, a legacy, and the lives of those who encounter it.
